DESCRIPTION

This symposium presents an opportunity to begin harnessing and developing a community around guitar research in Ireland. The first of its kind in Ireland, a full programme of lectures, lecture recitals and performances will help explore recent collaborative projects and new research happening within the classical guitar community. With guests including key note speaker Professor Christopher Page, acclaimed performer Craig Ogden, and featuring the Irish launch of Ben Dwyer’s new book Britten and the Guitar: Critical Perspectives for Performers, this promises to be an engaging and eventful occasion. Hosted by DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama, in collaboration with the Research Foundation for Music in Ireland.
